Version 2.6New in Nota Musica version 2.6:This new version comes with a greatly improved note editor. Notes are now automatically spaced, and the positions of bar lines and songtext are computed and displayed right when notes are entered. Various smaller problems have been fixed.
Do you like music? Do you play an instrument, and even want to compose your own melodies? Nota Musica will be a great help to realize your dreams. Nota Musica is a native OS/2 program. This means you can exploit all the advantages of OS/2. Nota Musica edits and arranges your notes: It creates scores, transposes, etc... Nota Musica allows you to play your tunes both on your keyboard and your sound card. Nota Musica prints your scores in a clear and harmonic manner.

Input of PiecesA piece may be structured in up to 255 movements of up to 255 voices each.Clef-, meter-, key signature-, and speed changes can be specified for every single voice. You can also enter interval deviations for voices (for example for a b-instrument).
Input of NotesNotes can be entered either by using the mouse or the computer keyboard (recording from a MIDI keyboard is possible with Nota Musica Sequencer). You can create chords and specify slurs, dynamics, ornaments, and repeats. You can also add lyrics and accord-names to your notes. Using the clipboard you can exchange notes between different pieces.
Editing NotesVoices can be transposed by an interval or whole octaves. Bars will be automatically placed. You may import and export pieces to MIDI-files.
Playing NotesNota Musica uses OS/2's Multi Media Presentation Manager to play your tunes. They are played both on your sound card and your MIDI-keyboard.For every movement and voice you may specifiy dynamics and fine tune MIDI-parameters to create high quality output.
Printing NotesNote Musica typesets your notes automatically; you don't need to worry about the arrangement of the notes on the paper. You can choose to print either scores or single voices. If you print scores different systems may be printed in different sizes.Once typeset, the notes may be previewed on the screen, printed or exported to a graphics-file. Nota Musica uses the macro packages MusiXTeX and LaTeX. These packages are available free of charge. An emTeX-distributon of these packages is provided with Nota Musica.
System RequirementsTo use Nota Musica you need an IBM compatible PC that runs OS/2 2.1 (or a later version of OS/2) and install OS/2's Multi Media Presentation Manager in order to run Nota Musica. Nota Musica needs 10MB of hard drive space.If you own a sound card that is supported by OS/2 you may play your tunes on your sound card and on a keyboard attached to the MIDI-port of your sound card.
